The Association of Cyber Forensics and Threat Investigators (ACFTI) is
an ambitious, non-profit technical organisation focusing on the
academics and research of cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident
response, and threat investigations and their influence to the
society. ACFTI started in 2016 as an initiative dedicated to promoting
all areas of cybersecurity in Latin America, but efforts were
systematically consolidated in 2020. ACFTI is Listed in the Union of
International Associations with UIA Org ID AA1922.

The ACFTI has as its first audience “individuals who have an interest
in developing curriculum and teaching methods.” To that aim, we are
pleased to set up the Cyber Security Training and Education Special
Interest Group - a forum for members to network, exchange views, share
best practice with peers and make an impact in the area of training
and education.

The SIG will tie in with the ACFTI’s mission to “provide an avenue for
academics and practitioners to share academic needs, experience, and
research in the areas of cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident
response, and threat investigations.” The objectives of the SIG also
align with those of the ACFTI, specifically:

• Collaboration with the academic community from the United Kingdom or
abroad to organise conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops,
for presenting the development and implementation of effective
measures to improve cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident
response, and threat investigations;
• To perform specific programs for education and training of personnel
involved in electronic information management (data processing,
storage, security);
• To coordinate and to promote authors of books, textbooks, articles
and specialised works in the fields of cybersecurity, digital
forensics, incident response, threat investigations, and cyber-crime;
• To defend, represent and promote the common interests of the members
and to provide, within budget, participation to conferences,
scientific sessions, and workshops in these fields;

Practically, we aim to provide the possibility of members making an
impact in their chosen fields by putting forward academic and training
project collaborations, as well as training and continuing
professional development.

So, the Cyber Security Training and Education SIG would like to invite
members interested in the training and education aspect of the
Association to join the SIG. We have an open position for a SIG
secretary. If you would like to be considered for the role, please
include a brief outline of your experience and expertise.

Feel free to send your expression of interest to
https://forms.gle/hKPyENcnyS2sdqbL9

After reviewing your expression of interest, you will be added to our
mailing list. If you would include an interest in becoming SIG
Secretary, you will be contacted by the SIG Chair.
