[DFSci] SWGDE Drafts Posted for Public Comment

The Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence (SWGDE) is pleased to
announce posting of the following four new draft documents for public
review and comment at https://swgde.org/documents/draftsForPublicComment

* SWGDE Best Practices for Mobile Device Evidence and Collection,
Preservation, and Acquisition
* SWGDE General Photography Guidelines for the Documentation of
Evidence Items in the Laboratory
* SWGDE Position on the Use of MD5 and SHA1 Hash Algorithms in Digital
and Multimedia Forensics
* SWGDE Technical Overview for Forensic Image Comparison
In accordance with SWGDE policy, draft documents will be posted for a
minimum of 60 days for public comment. Every document listed on the
SWGDE website has a "View/Add Comments" link below it that opens an
online comment form for that document. Comments are also still accepted
via email to our Secretary (secretary at swgde.org
<mailto:secretary at swgde.org>) as per the instructions on the first page
of each draft document. All feedback received will be reviewed by the
appropriate subcommittee.
At the conclusion of our September meeting, SWGDE voted to release the
following as Approved documents. They are available for download on the

* SWGDE Video and Audio Redaction Guidelines, version 1.0
* SWGDE Requirements for Report Writing in Digital and Multimedia

* SWGDE Best Practices for Digital Forensic Video Analysis, version 1.0
* SWGDE Best Practices for Digital Audio Authentication, version 1.3
* SWGDE Establishing Confidence in Digital and Multimedia Evidence
Forensic Results by Error Mitigation Analysis, version 2.0
* SWGDE Technical Notes on FFmpeg, version 2.0
