Hi, we're announcing a PhD position in Computational Forensics at NTNU (The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the largest University in Norway), with an application deadline of 16 October.

Details: "Detecting dynamic attack patterns in large and diverse data sources.
Detecting attacks against complex information systems is becoming more
and more difficult because of large quantities of data to be analyzed,
steadily increasing speed of data generation and dynamic nature of
data patterns that characterize the attacks. Therefore, we need new
algorithms capable of dealing with these challenges. In particular, we
are interested in detecting traces of attacks in large dynamic data
sets captured from different sources at high data rates. This calls
for approximate search, where tolerance has to be defined in advance.
In addition, to cope with large quantities of data, data reduction is
to be performed. To this end, various mapping/reducing techniques are
to be studied, as well as different distributed computation models."
