JOB DESCRIPTION - Research Associate/Computer Forensics
Title:	Research Associate/Computer Forensics
Locations:	Arlington, VA
The funds for this position are available for one year, renewable.
Employee Type:	Full Time with benefits
Industry:	Government

We are seeking a Post-doctoral Research Associate to join the Digital Evaluation and Exploitation (DEEP) Laboratory, which is investigating fundamental improvements to computer forensics algorithms and tools.
The DEEP Laboratory currently receives funding from a variety of sources
within the US Government Departments of Defense, Justice and Commerce.

In some cases we will be willing to accept applications without a doctorate, provided that the deficiency is made up with adequate industry experience.

This position will be an integral part of the research team interacting
with multiple government agencies and other universities. The successful candidate will contribute to low-level aspects of computer forensics development and design, including the analysis of stored data, memory
analysis, network forensics, and corpus management. Applicants should
be familiar with software design, reverse engineering, data mining, and programming.

The DEEP Laboratory currently has more than 50TB of computer forensic
data. As such, significant effort is required to parallelize current
forensics approaches and tools. Much of this work will be done on Hamming,
a cluster at NPS consisting of more than 1500 cores with more than 2TB of
RAM. Applicants should have some familiarity with high performance
computing and parallelism.

Candidates must be able to provide evidence of relevant work demonstrated
by a research publication track record or industry experience. Good interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to be self-directed
are also essential. This post is intended to be filled as soon as practically possible.

Applications should include:
* Curriculum Vitae
* Brief statement of the particular contribution you would make to
  the project.
* A research paper.
