CALL FOR PAPERS
17th Americas Conference on Information Systems
August 4-7, 2011, Detroit, MI, USA

Track title: Information Systems Security and Privacy
Mini-track title: Computer and Digital Forensics

"Hardly anyone disputes that 'cyber' crimes, or crimes perpetrated
using digital technology and infrastructure, are a rapidly growing
problem" (HTCIA 2010). The High Tech Crime Investigation Association
surveyed its members and found that nearly two-thirds felt they needed
more education and training on the subject of digital forensics
(ibid). The need for more research on computer and digital forensics
is evident by the increasing number of universities and colleges
offering coursework and degrees focusing on digital forensics, and the
number of journals dedicated to digital forensics.

Currently practitioners have little time to research solutions to
issues and challenges digital forensics presents. This mini-track
endeavors to provide a forum where academics and practitioners can
share experience, needs, and research in area of digital forensics.

Topics include, but are not limited to:
Digital forensics curriculum or degree programs
Research agendas needed by practitioners
Case studies
Papers that combine research and practice
Legal issues (expert witness, international, cyber law, or electronic
data discovery)
Homeland Security
Anti-forensics, counter anti-forensics, security and risk
Forensic accounting and auditing
Forensics of networks, mobile devices, or non-traditional digital forensics
